Sometimes you have to seek monsters to escape a monster

My mom and I, we have a secret. For the last two years, we’ve been on the run from someone far worse than Ares, Hades and Vulcan. We’re tired of running. What better place to hide than behind the walls of Olympus? The home of The Pantheon, the mafia that controls East Haven?

When we arrive three dangerous men take an unlikely interest in me, despite my efforts to keep them at a distance.

Vulcan: The sweet, flirty tech wizard
Hades: The assassin with eyes so blue it hurts
Ares: The heir to it all with an attitude to match

PERSONAL DEMONS

It’s pointless to haunt an empty house, any ghost will tell you that.

That’s what I’ve been doing since I died, existing in a space devoid of life. A huge house with no living occupants. Just me and three other ghosts with no memory of our lives before this. An endless monotony of ghost hunters and maintenance men are our only forms of entertainment.

Until Sophie Covey moves in.

We should keep our distance. We should scare her until she flees the house in terror, but she calls to us like no one we’ve seen before, a beacon in the dark of our endless existence.

The more we’re around her the stronger we get, the more we can manipulate our surroundings and interact with the girl who glows like a flame.

After hundreds of years of death, we finally feel like we’re coming back to life.

Septem Stellae

Potestas in omni tempore

I’ve always known I needed to attend Septem Stellae University, Seven Stars to those that don’t speak Latin. As soon as I found the tiny school, tucked away on a remote island in the Puget Sound, there has been an ache in my chest pulling me toward it.

When I’m accepted in my sophomore year, it feels like a dream. But all too soon, I realize that this school could be my personal version of a nightmare.

The four Consequences that rule the school—Ezra Carmichael, Fielder Harris, Gideon Brightwater, and Hardin Yorke—have set their sights on me, and that is in no way a good thing.

I mean, sure they’re all incredibly sexy, and I feel drawn to them, just like I felt to the university, but they don’t want me here and they’ll do anything to make me leave.

When they call open season, giving the other students free rein to wreck whatever havoc they can, I stubbornly dig my heels in and refuse to do as they wish.

Things keep happening to me, things I can’t explain. Almost as if by… Magic.

But magic isn’t real. Witches aren’t real.

Are they?

Once upon a time, my life took a dark turn

Or I guess, my life has been one dark turn after another. But this has got to take the freaking cake. Alone and heartbroken on a romantic weekend I’d planned for my cheating boyfriend, I stumble into a new world. A world where my hair is as long as Rapunzel’s and I’m trapped in a goddamn tower.

There are talking birds, shifters, plants that want to kill me, a curse over the land and an Evil Queen (capital E, capital Q) holding the people hostage and viciously murdering anyone she thinks might be a threat to her crown.

Everyone has been waiting for a princess to save them.

And they seem to think that I might be up for the job.

I hate to disappoint, but I’m an orphan raised in foster care, who swears too much to be polite, prefers Doc Martens to glass slippers, and am in no way a waifish pretty princess.
